We’ve made tons of little Dock updates recently, and we couldn’t let the year end without telling you about them.

While we’ve got some major feature releases coming your way in the new year (stay tuned for those!), this update is all about the everyday upgrades — the little things that make your Dock experience smoother, more efficient, and just plain delightful.

From a logo cropper to full-width banners to enhanced workspace roles, here are little 14 updates you might have missed but will definitely love.

1. Logo & Banner Cropper

You can now crop logos and banners when adding them to your workspace header—no more worrying about having the perfect image dimensions.

Here’s the new logo cropper in action:

The same cropper works for banners too:

2. Full-width Banners

By popular demand, Dock now supports full-width banners at the top of your pages.

That gives you four banner options to choose from: full-width, side-by-side, horizontal, or no image.

3. Improved Drag & Drop

We’ve majorly upgraded Dock’s drag and drop system. You now get a blue dropzone, so you can see where you’re dragging content to.

4. Color Picker

Design nerds, rejoice! We’ve upgraded Dock’s color picker and made it consistent everywhere you can set colors in Dock.

You now have access to:

  • Preset brand colors
  • Custom brand colors by workspace
  • An eyedropper to pick colors
  • The option to use HEX, RGBA, HSLA, and transparencies

5. Activity Timeline

The new activity timeline on a workspace’s Internal view lets you visualize client activity over time. This makes it a lot easier to see which accounts are hot, or to filter workspace activity by date.

The activity timeline lets you:

  • Filter by activity type
  • Filter by internal vs. external activity
  • Filter by last 30 days, last 90 days, or all time
  • Click the timeline to filter activity on a certain day

We've had lots of positive feedback on this since releasing it in November.

6. Workspace Roles & Permissions

You can now set specific roles for each person in a workspace to control which colleagues should be allowed to edit a workspace and how clients can interact with the space.

For example, you may want to limit which of your clients can invite others to the workspace and complete tasks.

To configure roles, just choose their permissions from the People menu.

You can now choose from these roles:

  • Owner (Dock users only): Gets workspace notifications and full permissions
  • Editor (Dock users only): No notifications, but full permissions
  • Collaborator: Can invite people, complete tasks, download content, and use collaborative sections
  • Commenter: Can only leave comments, messages, and submit forms
  • Viewer: Can only submit forms

7. Turn Off Workspace Emails

If a workspace is popping off a little more than you care to hear about, you can now disable email updates.

You can turn off all emails for a workspace in the Settings menu, or person-by-person in the People menu.

8. Add Custom Fields to Workspace Views

You can now customize your Workspace Views dashboards with custom CRM fields—and edit entries directly from the column.

That makes Dock the only sales and onboarding tool that lets you organize dashboards however you’d like with custom statuses, fields, and more.

As part of this update, we’ve also revamped how Custom Fields are organized in the Data Management > Objects menu. It’s much easier to manage your custom fields at the Workspace, Account, or Deal level.

This also sets up some major automation improvements coming soon. 👀

9. New ‘Add Content from Library’ Flow

When adding Library assets to a workspace, you can now search for assets, filter by boards and tags, or preview assets before adding them. It's a lot smoother.

10. Upload Videos Directly

You can now upload videos directly to a workspace—without needing to upload them to your Library or external hosting platform first.

This is great for uploading one-off video files like meeting recordings.

Select 'Choose Video' to upload a video directly to the workspace.

11. Link Pages from Workspace Templates

You can now add links to workspace pages within a workspace template. When hyperlinking text, you’ll see a dropdown of all the pages in the workspace.

Now you can create a table of contents, or refer to another page in the template without having to update the links for every new workspace.

12. Embed Docusign Forms & HubSpot Quotes

We’ve added a new embed option for Docusign Forms and HubSpot quotes, so you can drop them into your workspaces without the need for an iFrame.

13. Bulk Upload Google Drive folders

When uploading files to your Library from Google Drive, you can now bulk upload entire folders instead of having to select individual files.

14. Don’t Allow Downloads

Don’t want clients to download a file? Just set it to ‘Don’t allow download’ in the Library. This is great for keeping track of who’s viewing which asset or protecting sensitive files.

With lots more coming…

We can’t spill the details just yet, but we have lots of big updates coming in the new year.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you, happy holidays, and happy new year to everyone who’s supported Dock this year.

We love to hear your feedback and new feature ideas, so keep them coming. Dock is almost unrecognizable from a year ago, in the best possible way. I can’t wait to see where we are a year from now.
